Larry Key is our 5th & 6th Grade Teacher

Larry Key is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He attended Oakwood University and received his B.A. in Religion and Mass Communications, and a M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Andrews University. His graduate studies continued at Howard University School of Divinity. He also completed his State Teaching Certification at Tennessee State and Fisk University. Currently, he is professionally certified to teach in the Seventh-Day Adventist School system and holds state certifications for Michigan and Alabama.

Over the past 31 years, Mr. Key has served as a principal and/or teacher in the states of Michigan, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Alabama within the Adventist and public school system. Under his leadership enrollment doubled, and test scores, as well as financial contributions, increased.

Many improvements were also made to the school facilities which include installing an interior/exterior security system, new flooring, LED lights throughout the building, and TV monitors. Outside of his professional responsibilities Mr. Key also directed a Community Literacy Program for children and adults.

Mr. Key is active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and has passionately led and served in several departmental capacities. He is an ordained elder, lay minister, and singing evangelist. In addition, Mr. Key has founded the “Keys to the Prophecies,” a 501c3 ministry where he preaches and teaches the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. Outside of the school setting, he enjoys fishing, gardening, swimming, videography, photography, singing, and traveling. His motto in life is “If you can conceive it, then you can achieve it, so just believe it, and you will receive it.” Mr. Key believes that teaching children is one of the greatest ministries that exist today. With God, he desires to change the destiny of children for now and eternity.
