It’s a New Beginning

The board of the Decatur Adventist Junior Academy would like to announce the hiring of Mrs. Jasmine N Johnson as the next principal of our great school. Mrs. Johnson hails from Los Angeles, California and is currently the principal of the Ephesus Jr. Academy in Richmond, VA. As the leader of that school Mrs.
Johnson is credited with more than doubling the enrollment and providing stability and leadership at a time when that school was experiencing a steady decline in enrollment.
Jasmine has been an educator for the past 6 years. She has taught a variety of subjects including American History, World History, Personal Finance, and Math, and at every grade level from K thru 12. Jasmine also served as the History Chair and Athletic Director at the Pine Forge Academy before accepting her current position as the principal of the Ephesus Junior Academy.
Jasmine is a graduate of Columbia Union College where she received a BA in History/ Pre-Law in 2006 and an MBA in 2009. Additionally, in 2015 Jasmine received her MAT in Teaching from Liberty University, A specialist in Instructional Leadership Degree from William Carrey University and is currently working on her EDD in Educational Leadership at William Carey University.
On top of all that Jasmine is a mother of three lovely children Anaya, Ariana, and Amare Ward and wife to her supportive husband of 11 years Steven Ward. Jasmine loves playing basketball, reading and studying the Bible, Pathfinders, and spending time with her family
Jasmine sees herself as a servant leader for Christ and desires to see children reach their fullest potential. Her personal educational philosophy is “Every Student, Every Day, in Every Way, but Christ Must be the Center.”
